We are coming to the end of the first round of the NBA playoffs and some teams have already punched their ticket for the second round, but there still some teams that are still trying to make it to the next round. So here are my predictions for the 1st round of the playoffs.
#1 Boston Celtics vs. #8 Chicago Bulls
Winner: Boston Celtics, after dropping their first two games the Celtics were able to take both games in Chicago and with all the momentum they have going into Game 5 I believe that the Celtics will win the series in 6 games.
#2 Cleveland Cavaliers vs. #7 Indiana Pacers
Winner: Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cavs were one of the teams that have already won their series by sweeping the Pacers. Cleveland is the team to beat in the East.
#3 Toronto Raptors vs. #6 Milwaukee Bucks
Winner: Toronto Raptors, this has been a very close series between these two teams and at the beginning of the playoffs I thought the Bucks might upset the Raptors. However, after taking both Game 4 and Game 5 I believe the Raptors have enough momentum to go into Milwaukee and finish the series in Game 6.
#4 Washington Wizards vs. #5 Atlanta Hawks
Winner: Atlanta Hawks, through the first two games this looked like the Wizards series to lose and after the Hawks winning both games 3 and 4 the momentum has changed. If the Hawks can go in to Washington and win Game 5 I think they take the series in 6 games. But if the Wizards win Game 5 I think that they will take the series in 7 games.
#1 Golden State Warriors vs. #8 Portland Trailblazers
Winner: Golden State Warriors, Golden State made quick work of the Trailblazers taking the series in 4 games. The Warriors are the favorites to come out of the West.
#2 San Antonio Spurs vs. #7 Memphis Grizzlies
Winner: San Antonio Spurs, the Spurs were able to win Game 5 at home to take the lead in the series 3-2. I think the Spurs will take the series in 7 games, the Grizzlies have enough fight in them to get the win at home in Game 6. However, I do not think that the Grizzlies have what it takes to go into San Antonio and steal game 7 on the road.
#3 Houston Rockets vs. #6 Oklahoma City Thunder
Winner: Houston Rockets, the match-up between the frontrunners for the MVP award turned out to be a rather quick series, with the Rockets winning 4-1.
#4 Los Angeles Clippers vs. #5 Utah Jazz
Winner: Utah Jazz, I have had Utah winning since the beginning of the playoffs and Blake Griffin going out with an injury only helped the Jazz’s cause. Utah was also able to take Game 5 in Los Angeles and unless Chris Paul absolutely goes crazy and puts the Clippers on his back the Jazz will take the series at home in Game 6.
